Tom Hanks stars as Captain John Miller in this World War 2 epic. The movie starts out during the invasion of Normandy. This is one of the most realistic, gripping scenes I’ve ever seen in a war movie. It really spares nothing in portraying the violence of war. After this Miller is sent to lead a crew of eight into France to save Private James Ryan who under special circumstances is requested to be sent home. With this movie you really feel like you are part of the war. The actors do an amazing job and you truly feel for them. This movie is powerful although brutal and not for the faint of heart. If you like war movies then this movie is essential to see and I highly recommend it.
